![]() ![]() This is my first time using and or seeing a lithium-ion UPS. This morning I was unboxing one of our new lithium-ion APC Smart 500 UPSs to setup. How Technology Has Changed Water Cooler. On windows, another option to try is to add a tcp/ip port to print to and specify either the DNS name or IP of the printer, and then uncheck SNMP Status Enabled and see how that works. If that fixes it, there's probably some protocol like bonjour that isn't being allowed or helped across to the vlan your PC's are on. My troubleshooting would probably be to give the printer a static IP or dhcp reservation and see if you just blindly send the mail to the printer with the right driver if it doesn't work, despite PC's not being able to tell if it's online or not. It sounds like whatever method the printer is using to say it's there or for PC's to check if it's there (bonjour/mdns/SNMP for example) maybe isn't being relayed across your vlans, so when a computer initiates contact it works fine, but then perhaps isn't hearing the expected repeated announcement from the printer that it's still there, or subsequent queries to confirm the printer is still there/update the IP address to print to aren't working. What OS(s) are you using to print to this copier? When it "disappears" - if you just send a job direct to the IP of the printer does it work?
